This month I’m linking up with BlogHer’s National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo). I’m aiming to post every weekday in August. This month’s theme is “Hot,” and I think I should have paid more attention when I joined up because I thought we meant hot like Sabrina York books are HOT but what I’m really writing about is going to be a lot of different things. Each day has a question or a writing prompt. I may or may not play along – that’s my way with most things.
Today the question is, “Do you like hot drinks such as coffee and tea.” Ummm…
Ok so I’m a mom of young twins. I’m not sure any more if I actually like coffee and tea but they’re a huge part of the schedule – basically a no-compromise point if I want the day to go well. Of course I’ve always loved coffee, especially after spending a lot of my teenage and early adult years in Seattle, the birthplace of “you paid what for that coffee???” along with such other notable contributions to modern life as Pearl Jam, wearing your bike helmet indoors, and grown men in sandals.
I like anything that makes a mom’s life easier. I sure did develop an intimate relationship with our coffee pot when we had twin babies, and when I was trying to work full-time with one-year-old twins. Let me tell ya… Then I graduated to the Keurig and it was like a whole new world of coffee pleasure. Decadent? A little. But oh so good.
I drink coffee to take a break and recharge. I drink tea to feel decadent and pamper myself, especially now that my late nights are more my own again.
What about you? How much do you rely on your coffee? Tea? Let us know in the comments!
