Today’s BlogHer NaBloPoMo question: What makes a woman hot? Is it something physical, an intangible personality trait, or something else entirely that labels a person as hot?
This is a good question. And if I said something physical I could be done already, right?
I think a woman who knows herself is hot – she has strength of character, isn’t hiding much (although that can be hot… and useful), and has passions that fit into the world she actually lives in. I find women of deep faith are “hot” – as in, enchanting, mesmerizing, peaceful and strong. Creativity also gives women a sense of themselves that seems to really ignite their souls, which is hot. I love hearing about women pursuing writing, cooking, photography, crafting, jewelry making, decorating… those women have that something. It’s hot.
I do think there is a physical component to being hot – a woman loving herself, the shape that she is, dressing for her body type, celebrating the look she enjoys most – these are all hot to me, a mom of twin 4 year olds who has a rotation of t-shirts. But I feel hot when I dress stylishly and for me, not for the worst thing that could happen in my day. I also feel pretty hot when I treat myself well, both inside and out.
But really, a woman becomes hot all on her own – it isn’t a specific type, style, or age. Everyone knows, except the poor unfortunate women who haven’t figured it out yet, that a woman who measures herself by the attention and approval of others (esp. men) is definitely not hot. It’s really the saddest form of creature. No, a woman makes herself hot entirely on her own, and once she does she must own that completely. Giving anyone else the power to define that is pretty much the end of hotness.
So then it really doesn’t matter what we bloggers think, right? But since you asked…
How about you? What do you think makes a woman hot?
