Have you ever been mad at your kids? Not annoyed, but mad? Yeah, that’s where I got to with mine. It was after trying to interview someone on the phone while watching them, which I was crazy to do since they were in full-on after-lunch wild monkey mode. It did not go well. Things were broken. Home office equipment was harmed. It was beyond.
So whenever I need to clear my head and cool off I take a walk. Preferably outside. Preferably alone. Well there’s not a lot of alone time happening for me with 4-year-old twins at home. So I strapped us all in the car and headed to the Centennial Trail in Snohomish County, Washington.
A funny thing happened while we were walking the Centennial Trail. The mugginess of the day, the wide-open green space and the sound and smell of the wind from a pending rain was just what we needed. I remembered that I chose my life, I love my kids, and there isn’t much that can’t be resolved by getting outside and seeing how much room there is to forgive. And move on.
Thanks for stopping by!
