I hate to brag, but I often feel pretty blessed to live where we do. I wrote about the small town of Arlington, Washington, in this magazine article not too long ago. That was fun – to live here and to see it through fresh eyes.
Recently my fire truck-loving son got to visit our local Arlington Fire Department and had a great time. He was mostly, well only, interested in the trucks, and in his little preschooler world that was about the coolest thing ever. That visit came up last week and of course like it always happens with twins, it turned into a “I want to do it toooooooo…” from the other one. So I asked if I could come by again with my daughter and like in all great small towns, we got nothing but a kind welcome.
It’s pretty rewarding to say hello and thank you to our first responders. Plus we had a great time and my daughter is now imagining herself as a firefighter. See: blessed.
Thanks for stopping by!
